About the teacher / facilitator

I am Sophia Vassiliou. Yoga came into my life as I turned 40. I was a full time professional and mother juggling work and family and was going through a challenging period in my life with no release, just bottling things inside. I remember that feeling of peacefulness and bliss at the end of that first yoga class.  It was so soothing to my soul and on top of it my body was feeling alive.  Yoga helped me see things through and kept me well and sane, gave me tools to deal with the everyday ups and downs, kept my body healthy and pushed me to look for a better version of me.

Since then, I trained initially as a Yoga teacher and after teaching for a while I decided to take my knowledge and expertise further which led me to my 850 hrs Yoga Therapy diploma. I am now a full-time teacher working mostly in Yoga therapy some Hatha Yoga and Yin. Through my work and through my circle of friends I come across on a daily basis, women who are going through the menopause transition and suffering from it. I saw the need for information, understanding and help for all us women in this phase. I therefore enrolled and completed successfully the Menopause Yoga teacher training program offered by the renowned teacherand author in this field Petra Coveney in London.

I like to treat each of my students with the respect and understanding of the unique individual that they are. Trying to give them what they need on the day so that they can leave the practice with a sense of lightness and grounding and the feeling that they have come a little closer to them.
